Description

The Hyang Argopuro Festival is an annual cultural event organized by the Arjasa Traditional Tourism Village, featuring the Mendhak Tirta Manggala Hyang traditional ceremony performed at Sendang Tirtha Amertha Rajasa. This ceremony is an expression of gratitude by the villagers for the existence of the spring, which is the source of life for the community living in the village. Additionally, the villagers participate in a procession featuring giant statues, known as the ta' bhutaan art form, more commonly referred to as the “Ngarak Bhutah” tradition. This procession is joined by all villagers, including tourists who attend the event, carrying ancak, leghin, ongkek, and kempot containers filled with local produce and various types of traditional snacks commonly consumed by the people of Arjasa Village. The event concludes with a ruwatan or rukatan ceremony conducted by the village elders.
